Our Recommendation:  Do Visit Chichen Itza Maya Temples and Pyramids, they are impressive.

Avoid booking a Day-Trip Chichen Itza Tour, the experience is exhausting.  Instead, add at least a night in Chichen Itza in your vacation time, you will thank us later.  What we learned: any Chichen Itza day-trip tour from your Riviera Maya hotel will end up giving you a rush visit to the Maya ruins at the hottest day hours, a greasy buffet lunch meal among hundred of other visitors, feels worst than eating at a bad mid-school cafeteria; a tour guide that will control every step you take during your visit to the archaeological zone and who will limit your shopping choices to the places he or she gets a huge commission (hence, you pay higher prices). We did it, we don't recommend it !

Hacienda Chichen Resort understands the joy your dog and cat bring into your life and has created the perfect Dog-Friendly hotel service for you and your furry friend.  There are strict pet-policies that you need to abide and dog-owners need to keep in mind this is a hotel and consideration for other guests is highly important.  Please ask Hacienda Chichen reservation staff to send you full list of our Dog-Friendly bookings before you bring your mascot (dog / cat) you need to have the hotel authorization in writing. Among the requires for pet owners are to bring full health certification with all legal vaccinations in order and a polite well manner recommendation from your veterinarian assuring the hotel your dog has not bitten anyone ever and has the correct behavior training (basic and intermediate are a must) to be accepted to our property. No barking and unsupervised wondering is allowed.
